The runt of the rookery, Daisy was small for a dragon – well under twenty feet in length – but Kathryn had fallen in love with the little reptile, and at the age of five had taken the wee beast under her care naming her Daisy for her sunny disposition. To this day, people snickered when they heard the dragon’s name, but the beast returned Kathryn’s love with steadfast loyalty and had the heart and determination of a much larger dragon.
